As mentioned in my previous post I was hired by Vita.mn to take on where their former Event Manager left off to help produce and manage their annual "Hotness" event. I was given a little over 2.5 weeks to put this event together, but with the help of a dedicated staff and a decent budget -- I felt it was completely manageable.
What is Hotness? It's an annual contest that Vita.mn puts on every February where they ask their readers to nominate someone (or themselves) whom they deem "hot" in some way, shape or form. The readers vote and based on those votes, 12 Finalists are chosen. In the end two winners are chosen (1 male, 1 female) and they grace the cover of Vita.mn for a week in addition to winning some great prizes. It's one of their signature events that celebrates their readers and should be viewed in a tongue-in-cheek way. The event was held at the beautiful and historic Woman's Club in Loring Park and although it was a ton of work, I feel the event went well and heard from many people it was better than last year's event. If you're interested in reading a review about the event, as covered by local style writer Jahna Peloquin, click HERE.
It was a privilege and honor to work with the Vita.mn team and I hope to work with them again soon. In this post are two videos made by my friends Elijah Chhum (he directed the video above) and Anthem Heart (the video below) whom I hired for the event to cover the finalists and the party itself. The film by Elijah was shown before each fashion show the evening of the event and the Anthem Heart video was a recap video of the party. It's awesome to see live footage of an event I produced because I'm so busy running around that I don't really get to enjoy the party as much. Enjoy!
