NYC

In order to attend Thanksgiving with my family in PA last month, we flew into LaGuardia and got an incredible deal ($75/each way!). We only stayed one night in NYC on 11/22 and then another night in Brooklyn on 11/29, but when you're on a budget...you can't really afford to stay longer than that. In any case, we managed to pack in just enough in both days and as usual - the city didn't disappoint. I wasn't about to miss Bergdorf's holiday windows, do a bit of shopping in Soho at my favorite boutiques and this trip I was determined to visit the Cloisters. Here's a quick RetroCamera app photo tour of our visit.

I freaking love this city. We got a nice deal on a hotel in Midtown, which worked out to stay that far up since we were headed to the Cloisters the next morning.
We didn't get into NYC the first night until 7:30pm, so by the time we checked in it was 9pm. We were hungry and I knew the perfect place to cure our airport blues: Hide-Chan for authentic Japanese noodles. This is Dylan eagerly awaiting for our meal to arrive.
We order their steamed pork buns. Not as good as Momofuku or Ippudo...but still pretty good.
Hide-Chan bar counter.
A very poor shot of their famous black garlic broth ramen.
While walking back to our hotel, we pass a Russian museum (I think) with this in the window.
An incredibly beautiful cathedral on 5th Avenue - I wish I could have captured the entire building. It was so beautiful.
Dylan can't resist the smell of roasted chestnuts and grabs a bag to snack on for our walk.
Since we were so close to Fifth Avenue, we decided we'd take in a few holiday windows. I believe this one is in the Henri Bendel windows. An entire dress made from jelly beans. So awesome.

Another Henri Bendel Rockettes window.
Giant holiday star on 5th Avenue.
My all-time favorite holiday windows is at Bergdorf Goodman. The next 20 pictures or so are all from their magical windows.
Won't someone please buy me a lifetime supply of La Mer?

Here's the Dyl-man at the entrance to the walk up to the Cloisters. The 2 days we spend in NYC gave us rain on BOTH days - d'oh! Nonetheless, it wasn't so torrential that we couldn't get around in it.
The magical walk up to the Cloisters with a pretty view (not shown) of the Hudson to our left.
