Ever Google Your Name?

(Above: A design company's Branding of my name)

I'm not sure Googling your own name is considered narcissistic anymore (was it ever?). Aren't you the least bit curious as to what shows up when you do? Especially if you have a very unique name such as mine? I mean, at this point, I think you'd be stupid not to do it being we live in a day and age where potential employers, stalkers or even soon-to-be-lovers are perhaps researching to learn more about you. So, in an effort to protect my reputation, I check Google pretty regularly to make sure nothing scandalous is being printed about me (not that anything would be, but you never know!).

After putting my name out "there" for the sake of Sound Unseen, I now have upped the ante with Google and sheepishly will admit I'm no longer as anonymous in that big online galactic world. If you Google my first and last name, I'm popular enough now to have correct images of me pop up, along with a solid 6 pages of websites linked to my name. I have to admit...it is a bit weird. On one hand, I suppose I'm happy to have my name attached to things like Sound Unseen -- but on the other hand, I'm still getting used to being so reachable. I suppose that's the whole point of the internet? Information at your finger tips? I don't know...it's still weird.

However, upon just Googling my first name - I did find some pretty interesting things attached to that. Perhaps useful in the future for alibis or aliases? Here's what I found:

(A girl's blog thanking her friend Vilay. I like lipgloss, fake eyelashes and impeccable cursive handwritten notes, too!)

(If you can read the caption above, it appears "Vilay" waited to get an autographed photo of one Laetitia Milot)

(I'm apparently also a Guest House in Luang Prabang, Laos. I must pay it a visit next time I'm in SE Asia!)
