Why I Love St. Paul, MN: Reason #3 - Como Zoo & Conservatory

Lions and gorillas and wolves! Oh my! All these lovely, scary but fascinating creatures only a 15 minute drive from my house. Not only is there a zoo, but also a very old and lovely conservatory -- and it's all FREE! A perfect way to spend a few hours of your afternoon. My favorite was the gorilla, man was he big and just utterly fascinating.

Como Park Conservatory.

Their legs are so strange...and a bit gross.

Oh lazy Oragutan, I do love your leisurely ways.

Why animals shouldn't wear people clothes.

Such an amazing creature...how could people not believe in evolution?

Prehistoric bird.

Nap time for the leopard.

My other favorite animal, the Lions, both visiting the sandman.

The only big cat who got up after a nap to cool himself down in his wading pool.

A very hairy tarantula.

Dylan and I in a grove of the largest variety of ferns I've ever seen.

They do exist people! Four-leaf clovers.

A gorgeous Bonsai tree that has about 15 years on me.
