Art Shanty Projects: Part DEUX

As I sit down to write this post, I am chuckling because the stamp on my right hand reads "I Danced at the Dance Shanty!" That's right people, not only did I dance at the dance shanty, I also made my own postcard at the World's Only Post-Office Shanty on ice! That's right suckers! So one of you lucky readers out there may be getting a postcard made by yours truly...which one of you? Oh well you'll just have to wait for the mail!

As you may have read in an earlier post, we attempted to go last Sunday but we were thwarted by slushy conditions on the lake. Now that the temperature is back to a cool 15ยบ, there was no chance of that happening again. However, this time we did don more proper attire and came prepared (what a concept). Rachel and I started off our day by eating lunch at Pho Tau Bay -- a super yummy Vietnamese restaurant on Nicollet. I highly recommend the Beef Stew! Once at Medicine Lake, the sun was out and people were in great spirits. Some highlights include the Art Swap Shanty, the Nordic Immersion Village Shanty, the "I'd Rather Be..."Staycation Shanty, Fantashanty and of course the Art Post Shanty mentioned earlier. We drank hot cocoa, Rick ate a hot dog & hot potato and we battled to stay upright amongst the icey paths.

If you're living here in the Twin Cities and you haven't ventured out to see these awesome art projects -- get your one-piece snow suit on (come on, I know you've been dying to break it out) and get out there by Feb. 7th. For more information, click here. If you need some more convincing, check out the short film I made re-capping the silliness and fun we had yesterday!
