Northern MN in the Spring

The weekly jaunt to Duluth included a quick stop in Chisago County where I lurked around this small Norwegian-influenced town last week, while Rick appeared in court to contest his speeding ticket. In the meantime, I visit the local cemetery, eat a proper Norwegian breakfast and find the most adorable looking jail signage ever.

The other photos are from our drive back to the city usually around dusk and it offers me many opportunities to capture the sky. These last couple of trips have been 100% filled with work and no play, which is of course needed...but boy has it become exhausting! I've been having trouble sleeping lately, so that doesn't help either. Anyhow...if I sound dull, it's because all work and no play makes me something something...(brain dead).

This photo doesn't do those trees to the left any justice. They were incredibly tall and reminded me of the Shining for some odd reason.

Is this not the most adorable jail sign you've ever seen in your life? It makes you think perhaps in each cell, there are doilies on the pillows and old-fashioned hard candy at the front desk.

Our new crash pad courtesy of the lovely Steve Geier whom is graciously renting out his spare bedrooms  to us until the festival draws near. It's quite peaceful.
