Spontaneous Weekend Jaunt to Stillwater

There is a very charming and lovely little town that sits on the St. Croix River called Stillwater that is only a mere 25 minutes away from my house in East St. Paul. For awhile, a big portion of the town was closed off due to the water level, which you'll see below is still quite high. If you ever get a chance to visit the Twin Cities, request a quick jaunt to Stillwater and the surrounding areas -- it's rather lovely.

Look at that water level! Whoa!

Stairway to Water.

Stillwater's quaint Main Street is full of historic old brick buildings such as this one.

Look at the peak of the fence post behind me almost drowned in water.

A pug and a french bull dog barking at the waves.

Typical scenery along our drive along the St. Croix, farms on the left and a river to the right.

Yum! I pack a traditional Thai picnic filled with spicy treats.

I attempt to regain the balance I once had during my youth gymnastic days.

Bohemian gypsy child.

Tiny little wild purple flowers.

Look at how thrilled this plant is to be out of the cold ground!

A pretty little weed.

I spy with my little eye...Mrs. Spider.

A single heart-shaped leaf nestled into some dry leaves. A forest with a real heart.
