| Sound Unseen opening night at the Trylon. |
We somehow did it again -- we pulled off yet another Sound Unseen festival! And I'm proud to announce that we had some really great successes this year, in which a big part of that is due to our partnership with the Southern Theater. We sold out our Closing Night film (
Who is Harry Nilsson?) with superb and unforgettable performances from Gary Louris (The Jayhawks) and Chan Pohling (The Suburbs)! Of course, like every festival -- there are things we could have done differently and better, but all in all -- I can definitely say we're stepping in the right direction and although we have a ton of work to do, this year's festival was proof of our potential.
Even though the festival was scaled down, it doesn't lessen the amount of work and energy we put into it from beginning to end. Running around every evening and being out late for days in a row really wears on you. On the last day of the fest, my body fought with me to get up earlier than noon -- heavy lidded eyes and throbbing heels aside, the show must go on and go on it did.
Now that it's over, we will re-group as a team and dissect, analyze, rant and rave about the festival and what's to come of its future. In the meantime, this will give me time to focus on some personal agendas -- some of which are overdue (cleaning and organizing my apartment, looking for my next work project) and the other being a mini-vacation (camping, planning East Coast travel) to enjoy this beautiful Fall weather we're having here in Minnesota -- I am in LOVE with it!

| All the leaves are brown and falling everywhere. |
Next up is Halloween -- oy vey! When the hell-o-ween did it come to costume time already? I have no idea what I'll be up to, but I do enjoy dressing up (duh) and heading out. I suppose I need to make up my mind about it soon...rather than wait until last minute like I do every year. Although I do think being Alice Cooper and Ace Frehley last year were pretty great!
Anyhow, stay tuned for frequent updates and photos as I've got a lighter schedule for the time being. I can't wait to start reading my new book
The Magicians once it arrives from Amazon (Harry Potter for adults!) -- I'll let you know how it is! Tah!
