As a lover of beautiful things and collector of stationery, I was excited to drop into Mari-Mi, the new stationery store, cafe and creamery from Gartner Studios this afternoon while in Stillwater, MN. Originally nestled in the NE neighborhood in Minneapolis, its new location sits right on Main St. in the historic beautiful little town of Stillwater. The custom-made stationery is made right upstairs in the studio, while the main floor houses an incredibly bright and well-designed retail area and cafe/creamery -- that's right, you can shop for some beautiful stationery/gifts, order some delicious cupcakes and coffee and be embraced by eye-candy decor all at once. I purchased a new "V" stamp/seal along with some blue + gold colored wax, which perhaps you'll see come Holiday season on my mailed greetings. If you get to Stillwater anytime, it's a great addition to the otherwise antique-store lined Main St. (which of course isn't bad, but this place is adorably modern).
