How Monday's Should Be Spent

Remember that scene in the movie Office Space, where an annoying co-worker notices Peter's grumpiness on a Monday morning, saying he must have a "case of the Monday's?" Well, when I used to do my corporate 9-5 work life, I most definitely had a severe case of the Monday's more often than not. Which brings me to what I did this past Monday, a fine example of how I feel every Monday should be when you don't have to work.

I started the day by getting up at 10 AM and promptly going down to check the mailbox, which I discovered the mailman had delivered 4 paychecks to me. Huzzah! After a quick errand to the bank, I made a delicious breakfast of homemade hash browns, applewood smoked bacon and eggs over easy. Then it was off to a short shopping trip to purchase and replenish my signature Fresh fragrance and drop into a few boutiques to purchase some new summer wear.

For lunch, I decided I wanted to treat myself to a decadent seafood lunch at a restaurant with a view. Being we're limited to restaurants that sit lakeside within city limits, Dylan came up with a brilliant idea of heading to a spot called the Sea Salt Eatery near Minnehaha Falls. I think it is my favorite park in all of Minneapolis actually. We ordered 1/2 a dozen oysters, peel and eat shrimp and a grilled catfish po-boy. Delicious!

Later that evening, I had a meet-up with my festival co-worker Jim at the Muddy Pig for happy hour and later on Dylan and I decided to head to the Turf Club for some live music to end the night -- all in all, a really great Monday!
