I ♥ Vinyl

If (and that's a very big IF) I ever have kids, I am most definitely going to play vinyl records for them and hope that they appreciate why I love them so much. And maybe, just maybe, they'll want to collect a few of their own.

I love the art work, the inside sleeve, the smell and the photography -- I just love listening to songs and singing along with them because of the printed lyrics. I'd memorize so many songs this way growing up.

Last year, when I saw the extensive Warhol exhibit at the De Young in San Francisco, I had forgotten how many album covers Warhol did for artists. Most notably the ones for the Rolling Stones and of course the Velvet Underground. These are art pieces and now that they make photo frames to fit LP's, you can have an entire wall showcasing your favorite album covers! So, support your local record stores and get some pieces of art for yourself!
